Israel and Hamas are quiet due to the declared cease fire, but tension still prevails in the Middle East. Now, Iran has threatened the West, saying that if their nuclear facilities are targeted, it would trigger “all-out war” in the region. While talking to the news agency Al Jazeera, Iran’s foreign minister Abbas Araghchi said that any attempt by Israel and the United States to attack Iranian nuclear facilities would lead to an ”all-out war”.
Araghchi was on a visit to Qatar where he made the remarks while talking to Al Jazeera Arabic. He said that if it happens, then it would be the United States’ biggest ‘historical mistake.’ He said that Iran would swiftly give a befitting reply to any attempt and it would ultimately trigger an “all-out war” in the Middle East region.
Iran has apprehension that the United States may allow Israel to attack on the Iranian nuclear facilities. The nation is also worried that the United States may pose sanctions on its oil industry which could lead it in bad shape.
The country is already struggling with a deficit of foreign reserves and rising inflation and more sanctions will lead to a situation of instability. It may also compel Iran to talk to the Donald Trump administration for the negotiations and its nuclear programme could be derailed.
Iran’s foreign minister said if the US wants to establish a cordial relation and peace with them, the superpower has to release the blocked funds of Iran.
