Iran lashed out at the United States and three European nations-Germany, France and Britain for misusing the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) for their personal gain.
West is pushing for an anti-Iran resolution
Iran’s foreign ministry spokesperson, Esmaeil Baqaei’s reaction came to a question where he was asked that the western nations were pushing for an anti-Iran resolution at the IAEA’s Board of Governors meeting in Vienna.
US and European countries abused IAEA for political purposes
Baqaei said Iran had taken measures in the past in coordination with IAEA, but the US, and the three European nations have abused the agency for their political purposes.
The foreign ministry spokesperson reiterated that Iran has been committed from the beginning in its interaction with the IAEA regarding the Non-Proliferation Treaty and Comprehensive Safeguard Agreements.
It is reportedly said that France, Britain, Germany, and the United States are seeking a draft resolution against Iran for “non-compliance” with safeguard obligations.
Trump seeks Russian hand in thawing frozen US-Iran nuclear talks
Last week, aide to the President, Yury Ushakov said that Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump had a telephonic conversation where they exchanged views on US-Iran deal on nuclear programme and that Trump sought Russia’s helping hand in that matter.
Ushakov said that their conversation focused on the stalled talks between the US and Iran.
“In addition to Ukraine, a number of international issues were discussed, with a focus on the stalled talks between the United States and Iran on the Iranian nuclear programme. Donald Trump believes that Russia’s assistance may be necessary here, and he would appreciate it if Russia could work with the Iranian side accordingly,” he said.
