Indian-Origin Techie Vishnu Irigireddy Among 3 Killed In Tragic Climbing Accident In Washington

Indian-origin tech executive Vishnu Irigireddy, 48, was among three climbers killed in a tragic accident in Washington state's North Cascades last weekend.

Vishnu Irigireddy, a techie of Indian origin, was one of the three people who died in a climbing accident in the United States. The accident took place in the North Cascades Range of Washington state in western North America. Irijireddy, 40, was climbing the North Early Winters Spire area of the Cascades in North Washington with three friends on Saturday, according to NBC News.

The other three friends of Irigireddy have been identified as Nguyen, 63, Oleksander Martynenko, 36 and Anton Tselykh, 38. The climbers decided to turn around after watching a storm pass. As described on a climbing website, as the climbers returned, the first team anchor point failed, resulting in the group to fall 200 feet down.

Tselykh was the only survivor. He drove 64 km to inform the authorities about the incident, PTI reports. He remains in the hospital for treatment.

Who Was Vishnu Irigireddy ?

Vishni Irigireddy lived in Seattle, United States. He was an employee of Fluke Corporation, where he worked as Vice President of Engineering. Fluke Corporation is a test equipment manufacturing company in the Greater Seattle Area.

He also worked at BrandSafway as vice president of global engineering and product management. Irigireddy earned a Master’s degree in Executive Business Administration from Millikin University and a Masters degree in mechanical engineering from Missouri University of Science and Technology.

Vishnu’s friends and family noted that he was an adventurous climber and “Originally from India and a proud member of Seattle’s thriving tech and cultural community, Vishnu had structured a life based on his values—integrity, compassion and constant growth,” a quote from family and friends on remembr.com website said.
