In a shocking incident, a 21-year-old Indian man, identified as Jashanpreet Singh, has been arrested in Southern California for allegedly causing a semi-truck crash that killed three people and injured several others, according to US media. Singh, noted as an illegal immigrant in the US, was arrested on charges of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated after he allegedly crashed his big rig into slow-moving traffic on a San Bernardino County freeway.

An Illegal Immigrant

According to reports, Singh crossed the southern US border in 2022 and first encountered Border Patrol agents in California’s El Centro Sector in March of that year. He was subsequently released into the interior of the country under the Biden administration’s “alternatives to detention” policy. This policy allowed certain undocumented immigrants to remain in the US while awaiting their immigration hearings.
