India Will ‘Say Sorry’ And Seek US Deal, Claims Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick

“In a month or two months, I think India is going to be at the table, and they’re gonna say they’re sorry, and they’re going to try to make a deal with Donald Trump-and it will be on Donald Trump’s desk how he wants to deal with Modi,” TOI quoted Lutnick as saying.

US Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick said that he anticipates India will say 'sorry' and make a trade deal with the United States. Lutnick remarked that India will realise it cannot move forward without the US market.

According to The Times of India, in a TV interview, Lutnick compared India’s position with that of Canada, noting that Canada changed its stance to strike a deal with the United States after realising the condition of its economy.

Earlier, United States President Donald Trump posted a comment on his social media platform Truth Social, stating that the US has "lost Russia and India to deepest, darkest China." His remarks came after India, Russia and China stood together at the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation meet in Tianjin.

"Looks like we've lost India and Russia to deepest, darkest China. May they have a long and prosperous future together!" Trump wrote.

Trump wrote this with an old picture of three leaders together, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping.

Trump had also accused Chinese President Xi Jinping of "conspiring against" America after North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and Russian President Vladimir Putin attended China's largest-ever military parade on Wednesday.
