Imran Khan’s ex-wife Jemima Goldsmith has responded to growing death rumours as their sons voice fears about his condition in jail and seek proof of life. She shared her remarks alongside an interview between Zeteo’s Mehdi Hasan and Defence Minister Khawaja Asif

Imran Khan’s death rumours: As uncertainty continues over former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan’s health, his ex-wife Jemima Goldsmith has spoken out. She retweeted a post by Mehdi Hasan, in which Pakistani Defence Minister Khawaja Asif said Imran’s sons could meet him in jail. Jemima responded by saying that “no one is able to meet him.”

Jemima’s post comes as their sons have expressed fears about Imran Khan’s condition in jail and continue to seek proof of life amid health speculation. They have openly questioned whether the former Pakistan PM is alive. Jemima’s response was posted along with an interview between Zeteo’s Mehdi Hasan and Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, in which Asif said that Imran’s sons can meet their father.

“They’re not even allowed to speak to him on the phone. No one is,” she said.

Who is Jemima Goldsmith?

In 1995, Imran Khan married Jemima Goldsmith, a British screenwriter, journalist, and activist. However, the marriage lasted only for nine years, ending in 2004. The ex-couple has two sons together. Kasim and Sulaiman are the sons of Imran Khan and Jemima Goldsmith. Jemima is a British TV producer and screenwriter.

The 26-year-old Kasim is the founder of the Mifu app. He officially unveiled his venture, Mifu Marketing, along with the launch of the Mifu app — a marketing platform — in 2023.

Imran Khan in Rawalpindi Jail

Imran, 72, has been in jail since August 2023, convicted in a string of cases he says were politically driven following his ouster in a 2022 no-confidence vote.

His first conviction was in the Toshakhana case and centred on accusations that he unlawfully sold gifts received in office. Later verdicts added lengthy jail terms, including 10 years in the cypher case and 14 years in the Al Qadir Trust corruption case.

The PTI has alleged that the prosecution’s aim in cases against Imran was to exclude him from public life and elections, which were held in 2024.
