Jailed Former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan took a dig at Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chief Mohsin Naqvi and Pakistan Army Chief General Asim Munir, saying that if Pakistan has to beat India, Naqvi and Munir must pad up as openers.
Khan targets PCB, Army After Asia Cup losses
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan’s remarks came in the wake of two Asia Cup clashes between Pakistan and India, where the latter defeated the former in both matches.
According to TOI, Imran Khan’s sister Aleema Khan detailed his remarks. As per Aleema, Imran said that if Pakistan wants to beat India, Naqvi and Munir would have to open the batting. He added that former Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa and Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja should serve as umpires.
Aleema further said that she had informed Khan about Pakistan’s two defeats against India in the Asia Cup.
Petition in HC challenges “provocative, malicious” posts from Imran Khan’s X account
A few days ago, a petition was filed in the Islamabad High Court (IHC) against alleged inflammatory posts made from the official X account of Imran Khan during his imprisonment, Dawn reported.
The plea was filed by citizen Ghulam Murtaza Khan through Barrister Zafarullah Khan Advocate. It argued that the dissemination of “provocative and malicious” content from the account of a convicted prisoner is unlawful and contrary to prison rules.
Who runs Imran Khan’s account?
Building on this argument, the petitioner urged the court to direct the National Cybercrime Investigation Agency and the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) to investigate who has been managing the PTI founder’s account while he remains incarcerated.
The petition further sought orders for blocking and removing such content from social media platforms. It also called for directions to the jail superintendent to prevent the prisoner from accessing or operating social media, terming such activity “unconstitutional and illegal,” according to Dawn.
