Before the Lok Sabha election results are announced, exit polls indicate that the BJP is likely to form the government, with some polls forecasting over 400 seats for the NDA. Additionally, China has issued a statement regarding the election results.
The prediction of a significant victory for the BJP in the Lok Sabha elections has garnered approval from China. The country’s official newspaper, Global Times, stated in an article that if Modi secures another term as PM, relations between the two nations will likely see improvement. This article has grabbed headlines due to Global Times’ status as the mouthpiece of the Chinese government.
The Chinese mouthpiece asserted that the formation of another Modi government would not only enhance bilateral relations but also decrease border conflicts. Global Times further noted that with PM Modi’s third term, India’s foreign policy would see further enhancement and its credibility would also rise.
The Global Times article also highlights an interview conducted with PM Modi in America, where he stated that India maintains favorable relations with China, yet emphasized the urgent need for both nations to address the ongoing border conflict.
