A man from Haryana was tragically shot and killed in the United States after he reportedly confronted someone for urinating on the road outside the store where he worked, his family told PTI.
Twenty-six-year-old Kapil, a native of Jind district, was working as a security guard at a store in California. While on duty, he objected to a man urinating outside the store, after which an argument broke out. Soon after, the accused pulled out a gun and shot him, said Suresh Kumar Gautam, the head of Barah Kalan village in Jind, speaking to PTI.
According to media reports, Kapil had gone to the US around three years ago, allegedly through the “Donkey Route,” which involved crossing the jungles of Panama and scaling the Mexico border wall, as reported by The Times of India. Though he was initially arrested upon arrival, he was later released following legal proceedings and had been living in the US since then. His journey reportedly cost the family around Rs 45 lakh.

Tragically, this isn’t an isolated incident. In May this year, an Indian-origin man was fatally shot by a person posing as a customer in the United States. The accused attempted to rob him and snatch cash from the counter. Even though the victim appeared to comply, the attacker shot him dead after taking the money.
In another similar incident, a 24-year-old Indian woman and her 56-year-old father were shot dead at a departmental store in Virginia. According to reports, the father-daughter duo was approached by a miscreant and informed him that the store was closed. Following an altercation, the man opened fire on them.
