Gurpatwant Singh Pannun Threatens New Zealand Deputy PM Over Doubts On Indian Link In Nijjar Killing

Khalistani terrorist Pannun threatened New Zealand's Deputy PM Peters for questioning India's role in Nijjar's killing. Peters sought evidence, challenging Ottawa's claims, amid tensions between India and Canada

Khalistani terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun issued a threat towards New Zealand’s Deputy Prime Minister Winston Peters following Peters’ questioning of assertions linking India to the assassination of separatist Hardeep Singh Nijjar in Canada.

Pannun, known for his advocacy for Khalistan, recently circulated a poster advocating violent actions against India’s top diplomat in Canada. As the leader of ‘Sikhs for Justice,’ he voiced dissatisfaction with Peters’ apparent backing of India regarding the Nijjar case. This Khalistani separatist, who has been a source of contention for some time, has now issued threats against Indian diplomats in New Zealand.

In response to Deputy Prime Minister Peters’ remarks concerning allegations of a possible Indian connection to Nijjar’s killing in Surrey last year, these threats emerged. While on a visit to India, Peters highlighted the lack of concrete evidence or official findings supporting the purported involvement of Indian agents. He openly challenged the evidence put forward by Canada.

“As a trained lawyer, I look okay, so where’s the case? Where’s the evidence? Where’s the finding right here, right now? Well, there isn’t one,” he remarked. This position represents a shift from the narrative presented by Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in September of last year. Peters’ remarks represent the first time a Five-Eyes partner, which includes the US, Canada, UK, Australia, and New Zealand, has openly challenged Ottawa’s claims.

The assassination of Nijjar in Surrey, British Columbia on June 18 sparked political turbulence between New Delhi and Ottawa. This accusation exacerbated tensions between India and Canada, although there was a slight thaw in January following comments by the outgoing Canadian National Security Adviser acknowledging India’s cooperation in the Nijjar investigation.
