In a devastating incident on Wednesday morning, a Ghana Armed Forces helicopter crashed near Sikaman in the Adansi Akrofuom area of the Ashanti Region, claiming the lives of all those on board. The helicopter, identified as Ghana Armed Forces Helicopter 29, departed from Accra at 09:12 a.m. en route to Obuasi. Tragically, it went down shortly after, with no survivors reported. The Minister of Defence, Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, and the Minister for Environment, Science, Technology, and Innovation, Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed, are among those who have been killed.
The Ghana Armed Forces has officially confirmed the loss of its crew and passengers. The crew members on board were:
Squadron Leader Peter Bafemi Anala
Flying Officer Manaen Twum Ampadu
Sergeant Ernest Addo Mensah
The passengers included several high-ranking government officials and political figures:

Alhaji Muniru Mohammed, Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator
Dr. Samuel Sarpong, Vice Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC)
Mr. Samuel Aboagye, Former Parliamentary Candidate
The Ghana Armed Forces has extended its heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased and the nation at large, mourning the profound loss of some of Ghana’s prominent leaders and service members.
Authorities have confirmed that a full-scale investigation is now underway to determine the cause of the crash.
