Munich: At least 20 people were injured in Germany's Munich after a person crashed his car into a group of people. Children were among the injured reported the fire service. The driver has been arrested and a major search operation has been launched in the Dachauer Strasse area. Munich Police informed about the incident on X and wrote, “At the scene of the incident, a vehicle drove into a group of people. Several people were injured. We have strong forces on site.” The street has been cordoned off and large numbers of emergency workers are present at the site.

Munich's mayor Dieter Reite expressed grief over the incident and stated that he is deeply shocked. As per reports, Verdi trade union demonstration was in progress when the car rammed into the crowd. However, it is not yet clear whether the driver crashed the crowd intentionally or it was accidental.

Munich Police further stated that there is speculation about other people involved, but based on their current knowledge, they cannot confirm this. The police confirmed this on X.
According to Munich Police, two of the injured are in serious condition. "There are still numerous emergency services on site around the incident site. Caring for the injured is currently the top priority. Support the rescue services by keeping the escape routes clear," Police wrote on X.
