Dr. Alaa Najjar, a children’s doctor at Nasser Hospital, was on duty when an airstrike hit her home in Khan Younis. She rushed back to find her house on fire, as told by Dr. Ahmad al-Farra, the head of the hospital’s children’s department.

Dr. Farra said that Dr. Najjar’s husband was badly injured, and their only surviving child, an 11-year-old boy, was in critical condition. The children who died were between seven months and 12 years old. According to Khalil Al-Dokran, a spokesperson for Gaza’s Health Ministry, two of the children were still buried under the rubble.
