As Indian Armed forces recently conducted precise anti-terror operation in Pakistan, global media remained tight-lipped and focused on Pakistan’s propaganda over Rafale. Despite the availability of several evidences, that establishes terror outfits like Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed as proxies of the Pakistani Army and government, well-known terror figures continue to walk free in Pakistan and even hold public rallies.
Pro-Pakistan Army Rally In Karachi
The recent instance being a rally held in Karachi, where Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat, joined hands with radical clerics in a pro-Pakistan Army rally. Both of these groups are internationally designated as terrorist organisations, one fact that Pakistan continues to deny. Several videos have emerged from the Karachi rally, where the radical leaders and LeT Commanders are delivering inflammatory speeches. However, what has captured attention is not just the speeches but the heavy security under which they were addressing the rally. The footage shows leaders behind bulletproof glass. Additionally, the videos expose a deeply rooted pattern of Pakistan of supporting extremists and providing them a political space.
The gathering in Karachi was organised by Difa-e-Watan Council (DWC) and convened under the leadership of Maulana Fazlur Rehman, head of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F). The rally was held to celebrate Pakistan Army’s Operation “Banyan-un-Marsus”. The visuals in a way conveyed the fear among LeT commanders and radical leaders following Operation Sindoor, carried out by the Indian Armed Forces on May 7, which destroyed 9 terror bases – specifically targeting LeT and JeM and killed 100 terrorists.
Terror Groups Push ‘Victory Over India’ Narrative
During his speech, Fazlur Rehman made provocative statements against India. He tried to link the present India-Pakistan conflict to religion. He even declared that Pakistan Army has won a war, which in reality never happened in the first place. Mufti reiterated that Pakistan Army is not a religious army, countering the label of secular given by traitors of Pakistan.
Moreover, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (Sindh) General Secretary Allama Rashid Mahmood threatened India and supported Pakistan Army’s unfounded claim of destroying Israeli drones and Rafale which were used by India to carry out strikes. Mahmood stated that Russian-made S-400 defense system was also destroyed by Pakistan Army. He even issued warning to Russia, saying that Putin’s country should think a lot before messing with Pakistan.
Well, this is not the first instance, when Pakistan has sponsored terrorism and allowed the terrorist to make speeches against India in its soil. Faisal Nadeem, also known as Abu Qatal, the LeT Commander was one such terrorist who used to make inflammatory speeches publicly. He was the nephew of 26/11 mastermind Hafiz Saeed, and was gunned down in March this year. He handled several terror modules operating in Jammu and Kashmir and was linked to multiple attacks on Indian soil. He was one of the handlers behind the LeT terrorists who carried out attacks Rajouri in 2023.
