New Delhi: According to court filings made public on Friday after a federal judge unsealed the search warrant of Trump’s Florida-based mansion Mar-a-Lago. It allowed the abrupt, unprecedented search this week, the FBI found “top secret” and even more sensitive information at the Florida estate of former President Donald Trump.
FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigation)investigators searched the estate on Monday. They removed 11 sets of secret documents, according to a property receipt that the court unsealed.
‘Grave harm’ to Americans if docs made public
The data that were confiscated included items that are not only top secret but also “sensitive compartmented material.” It is a special classification created to protect the most vital information about the country. If it is made public, might cause “exceptionally grave” harm to American interests. There were no specifics in the court records about what information might be in the documents.
Possible violations of 3 Federal laws
According to the search warrant, federal officials were looking into possible violations of three federal laws, including the Espionage Act’s rules on gathering, transferring, and losing defense-related material. The other laws cover the destruction, alteration, or fabrication of records in the federal investigations as well as their concealment, mutilation, or removal.
Conflict of interest in Presidential records?
The property receipt further reveals that federal investigators gathered further possible presidential records, such as the pardon of Trump friend Roger Stone, a “leatherbound package of paperwork” and details regarding the “President of France.” During the search, authorities also found a binder full of pictures, a handwritten note, and several “secret documents” and “confidential documents.”
Trump’s attorney signed the receipts
Two property receipts were signed by Trump’s attorney Christina Bobb. She was present at the Mar-a-Lago when the agents were searching the property. One of the receipts was two pages long and the other was one page long.
