Amid growing controversy over Tesla CEO Elon Musk’s alleged ‘takeover’ of the Trump administration, Musk, who heads the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), has updated his profile to label himself as ‘White House Tech Support.’ This move comes as DOGE faces mounting scrutiny over its expanding influence on federal policies. The update follows Musk and DOGE’s increasing influence on federal affairs.
While Musk’s online antics continue to entertain and provoke discussion, his involvement in federal technology initiatives remains a topic of serious debate. Whether his “White House Tech Support” label is a joke or a statement, it has certainly captured public attention once again.
This isn’t Musk’s first time having fun with his bio. Last year, he jokingly dubbed himself ‘Chief Troll Officer,’ a cheeky nod to his bold and often controversial online antics.
In another post on Thursday, Musk said that DOGE will “make rapid safety upgrades to the air traffic control system.”
“With the support of President @realDonaldTrump, the @DOGE team will aim to make rapid safety upgrades to the air traffic control system. Just a few days ago, the FAA’s primary aircraft safety notification system failed for several hours!” he wrote.
Rapid Change Of Profile
Musk frequently changes his profile name, bio, and display picture, often sparking widespread reactions. In December 2024, Musk playfully renamed himself ‘Kekius Maximus,’ sparking a frenzy across internet forums. He even swapped his profile picture for the ‘Pepe the Frog’ meme, featuring the character gaming.
What Is Doge?
Department of Government Efficiency(Doge) is a department that Elon Musk has been associated with. It is meant to focus on streamlining government operations, eliminating inefficiency, and tackling corruption.
Doge, which seems to be a playful nod to Elon Musk’s favorite cryptocurrency, Dogecoin, was introduced by Donald Trump just last month. Although Doge has Trump’s backing and carries the word “department” in its name, it’s not actually an official government body. Unlike traditional departments, which are created through acts of Congress and have large teams, Doge doesn’t follow that structure. Instead, it seems Doge will operate as an advisory body, run by Trump’s closest allies and with a direct line to the White House. The task force is reportedly working on tech-driven solutions to improve governance and streamline federal processes.
