Former US President Donald Trump’s relative called out Tesla CEO Elon Musk for his decision to hide likes on social media platform X, blasting the billionaire.
Musk, who purchased Twitter for $44 billion in 2022, has implemented several changes to transform the platform into a “digital public square”.
On June 12, X began hiding likes from users’ publicly visible accounts after Musk expressed the importance of allowing people to like posts without fear of being attacked for doing so.

Despite receiving criticism from several users, including Mary Trump, the niece of Donald Trump, who voiced her dissatisfaction on X on the day the move was implemented, stating, “I didn’t think it was possible, but the latest ‘improvement’ to Twitter shows that @elonmusk is even stupider than I thought.”

The change sparked outrage from several other people in the comments section of the post, which has garnered over 392.6K views so far.
Another user stated, “X blocked me from liking anything negative related to a 34 times convicted felon!” Echoing similar sentiments, a third user remarked, “This platform has progressively worsened,” while a fourth user suggested, “I’m sure he’s doing it for his vanity, just like Trump.” Elon couldn’t stand criticism on Twitter, so he bought it to control it. Now, I’m betting he couldn’t stand people pointing out the various disgusting and conspiratorial posts he likes, so he got rid of it.”
