According to court documents, during a 9-hour flight from JFK Airport in New York City to Athens, Greece, flight attendants reportedly ignored pleas for help from the plaintiffs and continued to serve drinks to a visibly drunk and belligerent man.

The lawsuit, filed in the Eastern District of New York, claims that the drunk passenger’s behavior escalated into inappropriate touching and aggression towards the plaintiffs throughout the flight.

Shockingly, the staff allegedly allowed the intoxicated man to disembark the plane upon arrival at the destination without alerting local authorities or US law enforcement about the alleged sexual assault.

As per the complaint, the intoxicated man became increasingly drunk as Delta flight attendants continued serving him alcohol.

He was seated next to a mother and her daughter, and after a few drinks, he attempted to speak to the 16-year-old girl, who tried to ignore him. The situation turned aggressive as the man demanded personal information from the girl and frightened her by placing his hands on her back.

The girl’s mother intervened, but flight attendants reportedly asked them to be “patient” and walked away. Despite the escalating situation and other passengers witnessing the incident, it is alleged that the flight attendants did not take appropriate action to address the safety concerns raised by the plaintiffs.

At one point, a flight attendant did tell the man to stop talking to the plaintiffs, but he responded with offensive language. The teen girl experienced a panic attack, and the man allegedly groped her while she was seated next to her mother. The mother also reported inappropriate touching by the intoxicated man.

Once the flight landed, the flight attendants offered the victims 5,000 free airline miles and an apology.

The plaintiffs’ lawyer called the incident “completely preventable” and described it as a horrifying experience.

Delta responded to the allegations, stating that they have a zero-tolerance policy for customers engaging in inappropriate or unlawful behavior. They emphasized that the safety of their customers and employees is their top priority.
