What Is In The Video
As per reports from Pakistan Observer, police raided the farmhouse in Mustafabad after receiving information of loud music, indecent dancing, alcohol consumption and drug use. Someone shared the video of the raid on the internet, and it quickly went viral on social media.
In the clip, police are seen lining up the youngsters after raiding the location. Reports say many of those caught are the children of high-ranking Pakistan Army officers and members of the PML-N political party. The video also shows police forcibly pulling some women in front of the camera when they tried to hide their faces.
The raid led by Mustafabad SHO Saqlain Bukhari seized liquor and sound systems from the farmhouse. District Police Officer (DPO) Essa Khan ordered the raid. Kasur Police, in a press release, shared blurred images of the arrested individuals and listed the items they had confiscated during the operation.
When Video Went Viral- 2 Cops Suspended
However, the situation escalated after a video from the raid went viral on social media. The footage showed police officers filming the detained men and women, reportedly forcing them to face the camera. The video sparked widespread outrage online, with many accusing the police of violating the privacy and dignity of those involved.
The police later clarified that they did not record the video in any official capacity. They also formed a team to investigate the alleged filming. After the inquiry, they suspended both the Station House Officer (SHO) and the Investigating Officer (IO).
Meanwhile, the local court dismissed the case against the detainees and ordered their release, ruling that the authorities had no sufficient legal grounds to keep them in custody.
