In Beijing, a sudden storm turned routine cleaning into a terrible ordeal. High above the city, crew members clung precariously to their cables as the CCTV headquarters swayed in the gusts.
Videos of the incident were released online. The clip shows fierce winds sending workers wild on a rope hundreds of meters above the ground. Workers were seen trying to stay still against the fury of the wind sweeping through Beijing.
Standing 234 meters high and covering 473,000 square meters, the CCTV tower is a prominent landmark.
