Pakistan Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has intensified speculations over the nation’s hypersonic ballistic missile test. The minister did not deny the missile test, but he tried to refrain, stating that he would not comment on the matter publicly. However, he also did not confirm the test, and his ambiguous response has sparked debate in mainstream media and social media. Now, people have started guessing whether Pakistan has conducted a missile test.
During an interview with Pakistani media channel, Samaa TV, the Defence minister was asked about reports that the Pakistan Army had conducted a secret missile test earlier this week. The channel asked how much truth there was to the speculation. Asif said, “Don’t ask such questions here. These things should be asked privately. Such matters cannot be discussed publicly.”
The speculation intensified when residents witnessed disc-shaped clouds in the sky. On October 28, people saw rare lenticular cloud formation over Quetta and in the adjoining area of Balochistan. Several people termed it as a secret missile test.
The government of Pakistan did not react on the issue, and it became a talking point in the country. Initially, Asif rejected it as mere a speculation, but his later comments have sparked a fresh debate. However, the weathermen termed the clous in the sky as a natural weather phenomenon.
Talks about Pakistan’s missile test have drawn global attention due to the country’s recent stance. After a military confrontation with India in May, Pakistan was concerned over its defence capabilities. In recent months, the country has taken several steps to enhance its arsenal and strengthen its military power.
