United States President Donald Trump on Friday expressed optimism about a potential breakthrough in the ongoing Gaza conflict. Talking to reporters, Trump asserted that he has a deal on Gaza that would probably help in getting the hostages released. While Trump didn’t specifically mention if both the sides (Israel, Palestine) have agreed to the deal or what exactly the deal consists of, his remarks suggest that negotiations may be progressing toward a resolution that aims to end hostilities in the region.
Trump stated that the upcoming deal is going to be a deal that will end the long-standing conflict while bringing the hostages back. “It’s looking like we have a deal on Gaza. I think it’s a deal that will get the hostages back. It’s gonna be a deal that will end the war,” Trump said.

Relatives of Hamas hostages protest outside UN
Meanwhile, relatives of people held hostage by Hamas held protest outside UN headquarters in New York, as Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu addressed the UNGA. They demanded an immediate release of hostages.
One of the relatives of the hostage said, “My message for the rest of the International community is, if you won’t wake up now and realise that radical Islamic youth are being pushed on you, you’re going to wake up and you’re going to be in the place that we are in right now… I am warning you to understand that if you don’t act now against Hamas, its proxies and all radical Islamic youth, you’re going to be next… 80% of the people of Israel, not just Prime Minister Netanyahu, want the war to end. “
“We want them to be released. The only thing that matters is to bring them back. Everything else will be taken care of once that ends… We need to bring our soldiers back home. We need to stop the suffering and the cycle of death there that has been there for the past 2 years,” he added.
