A major suicide bombing took place in Pakistan’s Balochistan province on Sunday night. The attack was reportedly carried out by terrorists from the Tehreek-i-Taliban-e-Pakistan (TTP), who targeted a Pakistan Army Frontier Corps camp in Gulistan, near the Afghan border. The powerful explosion was followed by intense gunfire. The coordinated assault led to several deaths and injuries.

TTP Claims Responsibility
According to reports, the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has said they carried out the attack as part of what they call their ‘Al-Khandaq Operation’. The violence started when a suicide bomber drove a car full of explosives into the entrance of the army camp. After the blast, armed militants entered the camp and got into a fierce gun battle with the security forces inside.

Local reports say that at least three people were killed and 11 others were injured when a car bomb exploded near a market close to the army camp. Most of the shops were closed at the time, which helped prevent a higher number of casualties. The explosion also damaged a wall of the army camp.
This attack on Pakistan Army fort in Gulistan marks the second major attack by TTP in recent days. Just two days earlier, the group targeted a security checkpoint in Khuzdar, killing four members of the paramilitary forces.
