London: The coronavirus pandemic claimed a high profile victim on Wednesday as Prince Charles, a member of the British royal family, tested positive for the COVID-19 virus.
Charles, the Prince of Wales, reportedly tested positive for COVID-19, his office.
Clarence House, a British royal residence on The Mall in the City of Westminster, London made this announcement in a statement on Wednesday.
“The Prince of Wales has tested positive for coronavirus. He has been displaying mild symptoms but otherwise remains in good health and has been working from home throughout the last few days as usual,” the statement said.
The coronavirus epidemic has spread across the world, forcing many countries to announce national lockdowns.
Italy has seen over 10,000 new infections over the last 24 hours. Infections in the United States has more than doubled in a day.
Spain is the new COVID-19 hotspot in Europe after Italy.
