Meanwhile, social media users are circulating videos and photos of the incident, which shows police arresting a man. However, it remains unclear if he is the suspect. Some locals alleged that the man attacked the protestors with Molotov cocktails. A user said, "A moltov cocktail in a smoke-free zone? Is that a charge modifier."

Another user commented, "Nobody considered flanking this guy and taking him down? He’s large and menacing but was exposed for several minutes and could disabled by 2 or 3 men." Meanwhile, a third user wrote, "At this point, the federal government must step in and enforce civil rights laws. The Boulder Police Department should be brought under federal oversight. Republicans have stood against Democratic-led racism before, and they will need to do so again to protect the rights of all citizens."
