Pakistan: In a tragic incident, a Chinese engineers convoy was attacked in Gwadar in Pakistan’s Balochistan on Sunday, reported the Global Times.
The incident caused damage to a van within the convoy, resulting in cracks in the vehicle’s glass. The attack highlights ongoing security concerns in the region.

In response to the escalating terrorism incidents in the country, the Punjab Home Department has advised Chinese nationals residing or working in the province, particularly with private companies, to engage private security firms classified as ‘A’ category for enhanced security.
To address the security concerns of foreign nationals working on government and private projects, the home department and police held a meeting in February. In 2014, the Punjab government established the Special Protection Unit (SPU) to provide dedicated security to foreigners engaged in projects of national significance.
The SPU recruited a substantial number of security personnel, including constables, drivers, wireless operators, and former army personnel, to ensure the safety of individuals involved in vital projects.
