Pakistan: A devastating blast occurred in Bajaur district in Pakistan’s Khyber Pankhtuwa province, resulting in 45 people death and 200 others injured, as reported by local media.
During the explosion at the workers’ convention in Bajaur’s Khar, a local leader of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) was among the casualties, as reported by the district emergency officer to Geo News.
The official identified the deceased as JUI-F’s Tehsil Khar’s Amir Ziaullah Jan.
The injured were quickly transported to nearby hospitals, and five ambulances were dispatched to the site, according to Rescue 1122 spokesperson Bilal Faizi.
The explosion targeted a political workers’ gathering of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F), as per reports from Xinhua news agency.
As several of the injured are in critical condition, there are fears that the death toll may rise.

As of now, the nature of the blast remains unknown, and no group has claimed responsibility for the tragic incident.
Following the blast in Bajaur district, Pakistan’s JUI-F leader strongly condemned the incident, stating that it was an attack on humanity and the region itself, as reported by Dawn.

He emphasized that such acts of violence cannot be justified as jihad, and he urged those responsible to understand that it is terrorism.
As the situation unfolds, more details are yet to be revealed. Interestingly, the JUI-F has hinted at the potential dissolution of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), which is currently a coalition of various political parties in Pakistan, according to Samaa.
