New Delhi: In a ceremony to officially annex the four regions that were earlier part of Ukraine, Russian President Vladimir Putin gave some clear messages to the West.

He said, “People have made their choice and this choice is beyond any doubt. Today we are going to sign the treaties on admitting the Donetsk People’s Republic, Lugansk People’s Republic, Zaporozhye region and Kherson region.”

Showing his faith in the constituent assembly, Putin said, “I am sure that the Federal Assembly will support constitutional laws on admitting to Russia four new regions. Four new constituent entities because it is the will of millions of people.”

Asking the sponsors of the Kiev to pay heed the Russia President said, “I want Kiev regime and their sponsors from the west to hear me, heed me. I want everyone to remember that people who live in Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporozhye now they become our citizens, forever.”

Vladimir Putin further asked the Kiev regime to return to negotiations. He said, “We appeal to the Kiev regime to ceasefire immediately. All the hostilities, the war that they started back in 2014 should go back to the negotiations table because we are ready to do that. And we have said that on many occasions.”

Affirming the choices made by the people of these territories. Putin said, “But the choice of the people of Donetsk, Lugansk, Zaporozhye and Kherson, we are not going to discuss that. The choice was made and Russia will not betray this choice.”
