New Delhi: This year’s Nobel Prize in literature has been awarded to French author Annie Ernaux.

Ernaux, 82, was cited for “the courage and clinical acuity with which she uncovers the roots, estrangements and collective restraints of personal memory,” the Nobel committee said.

Winner was declared on Thursday

The Swedish Academy’s permanent secretary, Mats Malm, declared the winner on Thursday in Stockholm. Monday marked the beginning of a week of Nobel Prize announcements, with the prize in medicine going to a researcher who deciphered Neanderthal DNA.

Three scientists shared the Nobel Prize in Physics

Three scientists who created methods of joining molecules that can be used to create more precise medication designs received the chemistry prize on Wednesday.

On Wednesday, they continue with chemistry, and on Thursday, they study literature. The economics prize will be awarded on October 10, while the 2022 Nobel Peace Prize will be announced on Friday.
