Pakistan: Pakistan’s Gwadar Port Authority Complex witnessed a brazen attack by eight armed assailants on Wednesday who met with a swift and decisive response from police and security forces.
According to the officials, privy to the development, the assailants were shot dead following they forcibly tried to enter the complex and started open firing.

As per Makran Commissioner Saeed Ahmed Umrani, the open fire by the eight gunmen was accompanied by multiple blasts, which added further to the chaos.
“Bringing an end to the gunfire, the police and security forces successfully neutralized all eight attackers”, The Dawn quoted Gwadar Senior Superintendent of Police Captain (retd) Zohaib Mohsin as saying.
Giving details of the incident, the concerned authorities stated that a large contingent of police and security forces had arrived at the port amid the intense exchange of fire. Luckily, no casualties were reported on the side of the police and security personnel in the aftermath of the attack.

Moreover, the United Nations Department for Safety and Security also issued a statement stating that the port houses several government and paramilitary offices. It also mentioned that while explosions followed by continuous gunfire were reported, all the personnel from UN agencies were safe.
The Majeed Brigade, a faction affiliated with the banned Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), took responsibility for the attack. Established in 2011, the Majeed Brigade is infamous for its deadly methods and has a track record of attacking security forces and Chinese assets in Pakistan.
