President elect Donald Trump is going to take oath as the 47th US President. The ceremony will be held on Monday, January 20, 2025. This is for the first time in 40 years that the ceremony will take place indoors.
The inauguration event will be held indoors because of cold weather conditions. The ceremony will kick start at noon at US capitol. The inauguration is scheduled for Monday, January 20, in accordance with the 20th Amendment to the US Constitution. Trump will be taking oath next to the Vice President-elect JD Vance.
According to reports, the event will have signing ceremony, inaugural luncheon, pass in review, swearing-in ceremony and parade. Since 1930s the inauguration day has traditionally been observed on January 20. But if the date falls on Sunday it is shifted to January 21. This process started since 20th Amendment to US constitution got adopted.
The President -elect visits the White House and joins the outgoing President of US going to the Capitol. The ceremony will start with the Chief Justice John Roberts administering the presidential oath of Donald Trump.
About Event
January 20 (Inauguration Day): At 5 am the security screening will begin at the National Mall. Donald Trump and Melania Trump will be meeting Joe Biden and first lady Jill Biden at White house. Live performances will take place on West Lawn of the Capitol. Trump will take oath at 12 noon and give inaugural address. At 3 pm the presidential parade will happen from Pennsylvania Avenue to the White house.
During evening President elect will be attending the Commander in chief ball, Starlight ball and the Liberty Inaugural ball.
