Bangladesh Unrest: The victim was identified as Dipu Chandra Das. He worked at a nearby garment factory and lived as a tenant in the Dubalia Para area.

A Hindu man was lynched in Bangladesh on Thursday after he was accused of blasphemy. Police said the incident took place in Bhaluka upazila of Mymensingh district.

According to police officials who spoke to BBC Bangla, a group of people beat the man to death. After killing him, they tied his body to a tree and set it on fire. This information was shared by Duty Officer Ripon Mia from the Bhaluka police station.

Police said Dipu was accused of making offensive remarks about the Prophet Muhammad. However, when people involved in the incident were questioned, they could not clearly explain where or how he had insulted Islam.

A video claiming to show the incident has spread on social media. The video shows a large crowd recording the burning body on their mobile phones. Police said the authenticity of the video has not yet been confirmed.

The man's body was set on fire on the Dhaka Mymensingh highway.
