In 2020, vast swarms of locusts had reached the Purvanchal region of Uttar Pradesh via Iran and Pakistan and there was a lot of damage to crops. For a long time, groups of locusts have been influencing from west to Purvanchal in UP by entering the country through Punjab and Rajasthan from Pakistan. Crops have also been affected greatly by this.
