London: Around 500 heads of state and foreign leaders will be attending Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral later today.
US President Joe Biden arrived in London on Sunday where he signed an official condolence book and also attended the Queen’s lying-in-state in Westminster Hall, reports BBC.
French President Emmanuel Macron will also attend, as well as German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, Italian President Sergio Mattarellaand and Irish Taoiseach Micheal Martin.
Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Australia’s Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and New Zealand’s Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern, who are leaders from Commonwealth states, arrived last week.
Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe are other commonwealth leaders expected at the funeral, the report said.
President Droupadi Murmu is representing India. She visited Westminster Hall in London, on Sunday evening, where the body of Queen Elizabeth II is lying in state.
China has sent its Vice President Wang Qishan.
The former head of state of the UK and Head of the Commonwealth of Nations passed away on 8th September at the age of 96. She will be cremated today at Westminster Abbey.
