Are Peru’s ‘seven-foot-tall Aliens’ part of gold-mining syndicates?

The mystery of Peru's 'seven-foot-tall aliens' takes an unexpected turn as investigations reveal a connection to illegal gold-mining syndicates.

Lima: The bizarre phenomenon of the purported ‘seven-foot-tall aliens’ that reportedly terrorized villagers in Peru has taken a perplexing twist. While local accounts described these creatures as ‘floating’ and ‘armoured’ beings impervious to bullets, law enforcement officials in Peru have introduced a new theory that shatters the veil of mystery surrounding the eerie encounters.

Contrary to supernatural explanations, these menacing figures are suspected to be connected to illegal gold-mining crime syndicates, an unexpected revelation that unravels the enigma.

From extraterrestrial to criminal

Initially compared to ‘green goblins’ by the local population and associated with Peruvian folklore about ‘los Pelacaras’ (the Face Peelers), these alleged ‘alien’ attackers seemed to defy the boundaries of reality. However, a recent investigation by Peru’s National Prosecutor’s Office suggests a more grounded origin for these encounters – illegal gold-mining mafias.

Gold cartels in disguise?

Peru’s law enforcement officials now propose that these so-called ‘aliens’ are likely operatives of gold mafias affiliated with notorious drug cartels such as ‘O Primeiro Comando da Capital’ in Brazil, ‘Clan del Golfo’ and FARC in Colombia. These cartels, which have wreaked havoc in Latin America for years, were reportedly expelled from Colombia and Brazil by their respective militaries.

Intriguingly, these gold cartels are allegedly employing jetpacks, a remarkable display of technological prowess, to create an atmosphere of fear. This tactic is believed to serve the cartels’ ultimate goal of keeping local inhabitants confined within their homes, steering them away from illegal gold pits situated in remote regions.

A nexus of illegal activities?

The connection between illegal gold mining and the eerie encounters becomes clearer when examining the cartels’ modus operandi. These cartels are known to utilize advanced technology like jetpacks to explore and exploit gold-rich areas hidden within the dense Amazon rainforest. The forests surrounding Peru’s Nanay river, notably in rural Alto Nanay, are believed to be abundant in gold deposits.

The curious case took a sinister turn on July 11, as reports emerged of locals being attacked by mysterious, hooded 7-foot-tall creatures. Some described encountering these beings as a surreal experience, while others witnessed these figures employing advanced equipment to navigate the terrain.

Witness testimonies

One key witness, Jairo Reátegui Ávila, an Ikitu leader, testified that he had shot at one of these beings twice, only to find it resilient and unyielding. The encounter left the community in a state of fear and uncertainty.

On the other hand, school teacher Cristian Caleb Pacaya and other prosecution witnesses emphasized that the beings were not ethereal in nature; rather, they were utilizing propellers and advanced technology to achieve flight. Carlos Castro Quintanilla, the Peruvian government’s prosecutor leading the investigation, stated that these syndicates were possibly using cutting-edge technology such as thrusters for flight.
