It was quite unusual for any aircraft logbook, which is mainly meant for recording aircraft safety details from takeoff to landing, noting minor glitches, passenger complaints, and mentioning any untoward incidents during the flight.
But an Air India flight bound for Dubai from Delhi on October 24 had an unexpected guest. Flight AI 315 took off, and a few minutes later, a passenger noticed a cockroach on board. He informed the cabin crew, who immediately responded and addressed the issue.
The crew also mentioned it in the official cabin defect logbook of the aircraft. The log entry read, “Cockroach found alive by guest – cockroach hanged until death.”
Social media users noticed the log entry due to its unusual phrasing. An aviation journalist highlighted the matter on X, pointing out how the engineer added a touch of humor to the report.

The logbook picture went viral on social media, and netizens found it amusing that a cockroach was “executed” mid-air. Some users mocked the log entry by calling it a “memorable log entry,” while others raised concerns about cabin hygiene and pest management on an international flight, which is a must for the air carrier.
The airline has not released any response on the incident or clarified whether any action was taken after the flight landed in Dubai.
