Donald Trump secured victories in the first 11 primary elections, including Texas, as results rolled in from the 15 ‘Super Tuesday’ states in the race for the Republican presidential nomination. The former president, seeking a remarkable return to the White House after his defeat by Democrat Joe Biden in 2020, had the potential to sweep all states on Tuesday on his path to clinching the Republican Party nomination.

Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Maine, Massachusetts, Minnesota, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia were all called in favor of Trump by US networks. Trump expressed gratitude on his Truth Social platform as vote counts continued in the remaining Super Tuesday states nationwide.

Despite being a longshot challenger, former UN ambassador Nikki Haley has been unable to pose a significant obstacle in Trump’s journey towards securing the nomination. However, she has chosen not to withdraw from the race thus far.

In the Democratic nomination race, as anticipated, Biden emerged victorious in all 13 states called by US networks. However, he was expected to lose to a relatively unknown contender, Jason Palmer, in the small Pacific Ocean territory of American Samoa.

According to polling averages from RealClearPolitics, Trump holds a two-point lead over Biden in a hypothetical one-on-one match-up for the November election.
