In a shocking development after the death sentence verdict by the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) to former Bangladeshi PM Sheikh Hasina, Government agencies in Bangladesh conducted raids on Hasina’s bank lockers. The agencies have claimed nine kg of gold jewellery, costly jewellery and crores worth of gifts from Hasina’s bank locker. Here’s what government agencies recovered after raiding the bank locker.
ACC to file case against Sheikh Hasina
The Bangladesh Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) is now preparing to file new cases of corruption and disproportionate assets against Sheikh Hasina. The ACC has intensified its investigation into assets belonging to Sheikh Hasina. Bangladesh’s Central Intelligence Cell and the National Board of Revenue recently investigated Sheikh Hasina’s bank lockers. The agency will also examine whether these assets were declared by the former Prime Minister according to the legal process.
What ACC recovered from Hasina’s bank locker
Bangladeshi agencies claim to have recovered over nine kilograms of gold jewellery and expensive gifts received during Sheikh Hasina’s tenure as Prime Minister from two of her lockers. Along with the gold jewellery and expensive gifts, several other valuable items were also found in Sheikh Hasina’s lockers. Bangladeshi officials also state that many of these items were not declared, either during or after her tenure as Prime Minister.

Sheikh Hasina was removed from power in Bangladesh after massive student-led protests in July. Massive protests rocked the country, which eventually brought down her government and led to her ouster in August.
