No arrests have been made yet. Investigators were examining the crime scene late Sunday night and analyzing ballistic evidence from the large field. Bello urged park-goers to share any videos or tips related to the shooting with the police.
“Whoever decided to pull out a gun on a Sunday afternoon, when everyone is out barbequing and enjoying themselves, needs to be identified,” Bello said. “It’s unacceptable to introduce a firearm into any situation, whether it’s a short-term or long-term dispute.”
Maplewood Park, where the shooting occurred, is known for its “breathtaking scenic views” and is listed as a “must-see spot in Rochester” on the city’s website.
