This particular insect is among the priciest in the globe, with its cost reaching as much as Rs 75 lakh.

Stag beetles range in weight from 2 to 6 grams and typically live for 3 to 7 years.

The males range from 35 to 75mm in size, whereas the females measure between 30 and 50mm.

The term for the stag beetle comes from its unique mandibles, which on the males look like antlers of deer.

Cerambycidae beetles flourish in hot, humid locations and are vulnerable to low temperatures.

They typically reside in forests, yet are also present in areas with hedges, historic orchards, and city spaces such as parks and gardens, where decomposing wood is plentiful.
