Today is World Population Day, and the population is an important issue in India, as the figure has reached 144 crores and will soon reach 145 crores.
As per the Worldometer website, the current population of India is 1,442,121,121 and it is continuously rising.
As per the website, the population will increase a lot in the coming years, and it is believed that by 2025, the population of India will reach up to 1,670,490,596.
In the population projection report released by the government in 2011, it was estimated that by 2024 the population would be around 140 crores but currently, it's 144 crores instead.
The current population of the world is 8,118,835,999 and India ranks first in the world, while 36.3 per cent of the population in India is urban.
However, some reports also say that the population may double in the next 77 years and after some time it will start decreasing.
