Ingredients for Caramel- ½ cup sugar 2 tablespoons water. Ingredients for Pudding: 2 cups whole milk, ½ cup sugar, 2 eggs, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, 2 tablespoons cornstarch.
In a saucepan, whisk milk, sugar, eggs, and cornstarch, then heat over medium, whisking continuously until it thickens.
Once the pudding has thickened, remove it from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
Pour the thickened vanilla pudding mixture over the caramel layer in the cups or dish.
Let the pudding cool for 15 minutes, refrigerate for 2 hours.
