Unniyappam: Small In Size, Big On Flavor

Ingredients

You need a Rice, banana, sugar, coconut, ginger powder, baking soda, oil r ghee.

Soak

Soak rice in enough water for 3 to 4 hours. Later drain all the water and add the soaked rice in a grinder jar.

Add Banana

Add 2 bananas. Then add ½ cup jaggery powder and seeds from 4 green cardamom and jaggery.

Add Water

Then add ¼ cup water, Grind till you get a semi-fine consistency in the batter.

Frying Coconut

Now heat coconut oil or ghee in a pan.Add Chopped coconut pieces. Fry the coconut pieces till they become golden.

Add Seeds 

Add the fried coconut pieces along with the remaining oil in the batter. Add sesame seeds,  ginger powder, baking soda.

Making unniyappam

Now heat the appe chatti pan. Add coconut oil, with a spoon pour unniyappam batter in the chatti moulds.

Cook

On a low flame cook till the base is golden and crisp. Then turn over each unniyapam.

Serve

Serve unniyappam warm and enjoy.
