1 ½ cups grated coconut, 1 cup sugar, ½ cup milk, 1 tbsp ghee, ½ tsp cardamom powder, pinch of saffron (optional).
Heat 1 tbsp ghee in a non-stick pan over medium heat.
Add 1 cup fresh grated coconut and sauté for 2-3 minutes.
Pour in 1 cup condensed milk and 2 tbsp sugar. Stir well.
Cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens and starts to leave the sides of the pan.
Grease a tray with ghee and pour the mixture into it. Flatten it with a spatula.
Once set, cut into squares and serve.
