1 cup Urad dal, 1/4 cup Chana dal, 4-5 dried red chilies, 2 tbsp Sesame seeds, 1 tsp Hing (asafoetida), 1 tsp Salt, 1 tsp Jaggery (optional).
In a dry pan, roast Urad dal, Chana dal, sesame seeds, and dried red chilies until golden brown and aromatic.
Girnd the red chillies, curry leaves, and salt to make a fine powder.
Grind the cooled mixture into a coarse powder in a blender.
Stir the coconut and roast until hot and aromatic. keep this in pan itslef.
Serve your homemade Idli podi with hot, steaming idlis for the perfect South Indian breakfast.
