Try Bihari Style Dal Pittha At Home

2 cups rice flour, 1 cup chana dal (soaked for 4-5 hours), 2 tsp ginger-garlic paste, 1 tsp cumin seeds, 1 tsp mustard seeds, 1-2 green chilies, chopped, Salt, turmeric, and oil.

Ingredients

Mix rice flour, salt, and hot water to form a soft dough.

Prepare The Dough

Grind soaked chana dal coarsely and sauté with oil, cumin, mustard seeds, green chilies, ginger-garlic paste, turmeric, and salt. Cook until aromatic.

Make The Dal Filling

Fill with the dal mixture, and fold into crescent shapes or seal like dumplings.

Shape The Pittha

Arrange the pittha in a steamer and steam for 15-20 minutes.

Steam The Pittha

Drizzle steamed pittha with spiced tadka and serve hot with mustard or tomato chutney.

Serve Hot
