Zainab Khanam
– 2 medium-sized onions, thinly sliced – 1/2 tsp red chili powder – 1/4 tsp roasted cumin powder – 1/2 tsp black salt – 1/2 tsp regular salt (adjust to taste) – 1 tsp lemon juice – Fresh coriander leaves (for garnish) – 1-2 green chilies (optional)
Peel the onions and slice them thinly into rings. The thin slices will make them crunchy and flavorful.
In a bowl, add the sliced onions, red chili powder, roasted cumin powder, black salt, and regular salt. Toss them well so that the onions are evenly coated with the spices.
Squeeze in fresh lemon juice for that tangy punch. Mix well and let the onions marinate in the spices for a few minutes.
For a spicy kick, slice up a couple of green chilies and add them to the mix. This adds an extra zing to the Laccha Pyaaz.
Serve your Laccha Pyaaz alongside your favorite curry, biryani, or kebabs. It's the perfect tangy and spicy side dish that complements any Indian meal!
