Suryakumar made his T20 International debut on March 14, 2021, against England, where he hit the first ball he faced for a six, marking a memorable start to his international career.
As of August 2024, he has scored over 2,400 runs in T20Is, including four centuries, making him one of the leading T20I batsmen globally.
He held the top position in the ICC Men's T20I rankings from October 2022 to June 2024 and was named the ICC Men's T20I Cricketer of the Year in 2022.
Suryakumar was part of the Indian team that won the 2023 Asia Cup and the 2024 T20 World Cup.
He joined MI in 2018 and became a crucial player, contributing significantly to their IPL titles in 2019 and 2020. He had a standout season in 2023, scoring 605 runs at a strike rate of 181.14.
Suryakumar played for KKR from 2014 to 2017, where he had a modest start.
In November 2023, he was appointed captain of the Indian T20I team, taking over from Rohit Sharma.
