2 cups flour, 1/2 cup sugar, 1/2 cup milk, 2 tsp yeast, 1/4 tsp salt, 2 eggs, 2 tbsp melted butter, 1 cup strawberry jam/puree, confectioners' sugar.
In a small bowl, combine warm milk (105°F - 115°F) and yeast. Stir to dissolve, then let sit for 5-7 minutes until frothy.
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, and salt. Add eggs, melted butter, and yeast mixture. Mix until a smooth batter forms.
Using a stand mixer with a dough hook attachment or by hand, knead the dough for 10-12 minutes until smooth and elastic.
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and let rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours until doubled in size.
Heat 2-3 inches of oil in a deep frying pan to 350°F. Punch down the dough and use a donut cutter or a glass to cut out donuts. Fry for 1-2 minutes per side until golden brown.
Let the donuts cool slightly before filling with strawberry jam or puree. Dust with confectioners' sugar.
