Dark chocolate, figs, flour, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, baking powder, sugar, vanilla, eggs, milk, butter.
Chop dried figs into small pieces, and soak them in warm water for 15 minutes. Drain well.
Melt the dark chocolate using a double boiler until smooth and silky.
In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg.
In a separate bowl, beat together eggs, sugar, vanilla extract, and melted butter until creamy.
Add the melted chocolate and figs to the batter, mixing until fully incorporated.
Pour the batter into a greased 8-inch cake pan and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 30-35 minutes.
